The food here is classic diner.  The breakfast always comes out the same and the service is always the same- great.  The ambiance has the classic diner look, red booths and some tables in the middle.

  Thought I would try out another nice family restaurant and I’m so happy I did.
I brought my Mom out to lunch and since I’m on Hawaiian time (3 hours) behind.
It all worked out for us.
I got breakfast and my mom got lunch.
Everything we tried was delicious.
The other winner is their homemade pies  
I came back at least 4 different times and tried most of their Pies.
The Staff are really all very nice which makes this restaurant my new fave in Escondido.

  Charlie’s family restaurant is great on all levels!
From my first phone call, the Customer Service was excellent.  Very polite and very informative. Once I got there to pick up my food, the service was great. The atmosphere was great ! good vibes all around. A lovely mom and Pop diner, which is hard to find these days. I was greeted with kindness and felt very welcomed. I wish I could’ve stayed to eat my food but I was on my lunch break from work. I will definitely be back with my family. (It’s too good to keep to myself) I ordered the Reuben sandwich french fries And iced Dr Pepper. The Reuben sandwich was amazing best I’ve had in a long time I could only eat half of it though because the sandwich was big with a lot of meat which is great. They have the big fries they were fresh and hot and perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside the Dr Pepper was great. It actually taste like Dr Pepper and not the soda water. Also, it is very affordable. The serving size is great, so you definitely get what you pay for. This was my first time here and it will definitely not be my last.

  We work across the street from them and have gone more times than can remember.  Today we were craving comfort type food with the rain.  Luckily todays menu included Chicken and Dumplings..  OH MY GOODNESS OH MY GOODNESS !!!!  DELISIOUS.  Please give them a try.

  Food and service is amazing here. My wife has dairy and gluten allergies and they have plenty of options for her. Everything was wonderful.

  this is the best damned biscuits & gravy ive had this side of the mighty mississippi river ever! the food is off the chart good! and the service ain’t bad either!  its a restaurant straigt out of montgomery alabama circa 1981 the year i graduated sidney lanier high school on so court st. montgomery alabama go poets!
